Razširitve SQLa za Data-Warehousing in Data-Mining

Description
SQL je razširjen in standardiziran jezik za delo s podatkovnimibazami. V osnovi je bil namenjen le transakcijskem procesiranju podatkov (OLTP - OnLine-Transaction-Processing).
V devetdesetih letih pa so se pojavile nove zahteve do podatkovnih baz v obliki OLAPa, ki so pokrite z razširjenimi in novimi funkcijami SQL-a. Za to obstajajo različne rešitve: IBM-ova, ORACLE-ova in Microsoftova različica. Na seminarju bo predstavljena Microsoftova različica rešitve, imenovana Multi-Dimensional-eXtension (MDX), ki omogoča opis funkcij Data Warehouse-a in Data Mininga.
