Description

Močan termomehanski odziv (spreminjanje oblike s temperaturo) v tekočekristalnih elastomerih (TKE) bi lahko izkoristili pri novih generacijah mehanskih aktuatorskih elementov. Žal pa preboj ovira zapletena sinteza TKE, ki trenutno močno omejuje obliko vzorcev in onemogoča uporabo klasičnih metod za brizganje plastike. Problem so raziskovalci in raziskovalke rešili s pripravo kompozitnega materiala, natančneje z dopiranjem običajnega silikonskega elastomera s TKE mikrodelci. V takšnem kompozitu se temperaturno odzivni anizotropni oblikovni spomin mikrodelcev prenese na celoten material, če le-te orientiramo v zunanjem magnetnem polju in njihovo ureditev stabiliziramo z zamreženjem polimerne matrike.
