Description
Mihai Lupu is an IR researcher with experience in distributed and domain specific text retrieval. He is currently employed as a post-doctoral researcher with the Vienna University of Technology. At the same time, he is a private entrepreneur working as a contractor to ESTeam AB. He has received his PhD degree from the Singapore-MIT Alliance at the National University of Singapore, where he has worked mostly on Information Retrieval on Peer-to-Peer Networks, but also briefly on Semantic Web techniques, as well as programming languages. Before his PhD, he had obtained an MSc degree in Parallel and Distributed Computing and a BSc degree in computer science from the "Al. I. Cuza" University in Iasi, Romania. Now, his research interests continue in the area of information retrieval, with emphasis on patent retrieval and chemical retrieval evaluation.
