Challenges in Social Network Data: Processes, Privacy and Paradoxes

author: Jon Kleinberg, Department of Computer Science, Cornell University

Description

The proliferation of rich social media, on-line communities, and collectively produced knowledge resources has accelerated the convergence of technological and social networks, producing environments that reflect both the architecture of the underlying information systems and the social structure on their members. In studying the consequences of these developments, we are faced with the opportunity to analyze social network data at unprecedented levels of scale and temporal resolution; this has led to a growing body of research at the intersection of the computing and social sciences. This talk has value, great content, I encourage students to view this. Its much easier to view with the sinhronisation. Will this be available with each talk?

Comment2 davor (staff), September 2, 2007 at 11:02 a.m.:

Hello, sure, it will be available within a few days. All the videos with slides of the KDD 2007 will be sinchronized.

Nice talk, however it stops a lot due to buffering. I've tried in different machines,
different OSs, various internet connections and it gets bad towards the end. I wished
we could have other options... maybe quicktime or something.
