Born in Rijeka in 1954. A nuclear physicist with thirty years of academic experience, twenty of which were spent abroad. Worked at institutes and universities in Europe, Asia and Australia.

In early 2007 returns to Rijeka to work as a full professor of physics. Founds the laboratory for element microanalisys, while also leading the project of establishing the science-technology park which should bridge the gap between the knowledge-intensive universities and entrepreneurship.
