Research at EURANDOM covers stochastics and its applications, as well as its interfaces with other disciplines. Stochastics consists of statistics, probability and stochastic operations research. The core business of EURANDOM is fundamental research in an international environment, carried out by a select and non-tenured staff of junior researchers and senior advisors, supplemented with an extensive programme of seminars, workshops and visitors. In spite of its modest size, EURANDOM is engaged in many activities on a local, national and international scale, making it into an important research facility in Europe.

Research at EURANDOM is interdisciplinary and is organised in thematic programmes around carefully chosen topics that change on a medium-term basis. These programmes are guided by senior scientists (see also scientifc staff) and are overseen by international steering committees. Research progress is reported at scientific conferences and in a series of technical reports, submitted to peer reviewed journals.
