Predstavil bom nekatera nova spoznanja o delovanju in strukturi preprostih bakterijskih virusov. Le-ta temeljijo na uporabi novih fizikalnih tehnik, kot je optična pinceta in metoda osmotskega stresa, pri raziskovanja virusov. Opisal bom nekatera osnovna načela strukture preprostih virusov in pojasnil, kako interakcije med segmenti molekule DNK v virusu vodijo do načela "osmotske vzmeti".
