Welcome to the first issue of the Journal of Machine Learning Video Tutorials. The tutorial constituting our inaugural issue consists of the invited lecture delivered by Prof Leslie P Kaelbling at the EMLC PKDD 2010 in Barcelona. Prof Kaelbling is an internationally recognized research leader in machine learning and artificial intelligence at large; in her tutorial, she shares with us her view of a research agenda geared towards the design of general-purpose agents that go beyond the current state of the art in their ability to act intelligently.
