Description

Kvantna kromodinamika je teorija močne interakcije med kvarki in gluoni. Eksperimenti merijo lastnosti in dinamiko hadronskih stanj, kot sta proton in nevtron. Ne morejo pa direktno opazovati kvarkov niti gluonov. Namesto kvantne kromodinamike kot točne teorije uporabljamo pogosto efektivne teorije, ki vsebujejo lastnosti kvantne kromodinamike in omogočajo opis hadronskih stanj. Pri tem imajo veliko uspeha in hkrati tudi omejitve pri obravnavi močnih, šibkih in elektromagnetnih interakcij hadronov.
