Molekula DNK, tako drobcena, da je prostim očem nevidna, je postala eno najmočnejših orodij v boju proti zločinu. Komaj dvajset let po prvi analizi DNK, imenovani »prstni odtis« DNK, je forenzična tipizacija DNK postala odločilen ključ pri obsodbi ali oprostitvi osumljenca, pri identificiranju žrtev kaznivih dejanj, naravnih ali prometnih nesreč ter pri ugotavljanju sorodstvenih razmerij med ljudmi.

DNA molecule invisible by naked eye becomes the most powerful tool in the fight against the crime. Just twenty years after first DNA fingerprinting analysis, forensic DNA typing become a crucial key to the conviction or exoneration of the suspects, identificaton of victims of crimes, accidents or disasters and determination of relationship.
